Statement by the High Representative on behalf of the EU on the alignment of certain countries with Council Implementing Decision 2023 / 2499 concerning restrictive measures in view of the situation in Libya

BRUSSELS, 22 November 2023 / PRN Africa / -- On 9 November 2023, the Council adopted Council Implementing Decision (CFSP) 2023/24991.

The Council implementing Decision deletes the entries for two persons and one entity, and maintains the restrictive measures against all other persons and entities mentioned in the lists set out in Annexes II and IV to Decision (CFSP) 2015/1333. In addition, the identifying information for one person is updated.

The candidate countries North Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, Albania, Ukraine, Republic of Moldova and Bosnia and Herzegovina2, the potential candidate country Georgia, the EFTA countries Liechtenstein and Norway, members of the European Economic Area, align themselves with this Council Decision.

They will ensure that their national policies conform to this Council Decision.

The European Union takes note of this commitment and welcomes it.
