DroneShield has locked in A$261 million of contracted revenue for fiscal 2026, landing squarely in the middle of the A$250 million to A$270 million guidance range the Australian counter-drone specialist issued for the year. The figure, current as of October 12, represents a 35 percent jump over the comparable position a year earlier.

The stock did not share in the good news. Shares fell 7.4 percent to EUR 0.8504, with no single catalyst identified for the decline. The retreat came on the heels of a 2.7 percent drop to EUR 0.9186 the previous session, when a sector-wide selloff swept Australian technology names after Wall Street losses tied to unexpectedly hot US inflation data. Media reports at the time noted the shares came under pressure even as the contracted revenue figure hit the arithmetic midpoint of management's own forecast.

Beyond the Current Year

Visibility extends well past the current twelve-month window. DroneShield has already banked A$29 million in committed revenue for fiscal 2027, with a further A$17 million secured for fiscal 2028 and beyond. That backlog gives the company a predictable base load for manufacturing and distribution of its counter-drone systems, though the laddering also makes clear that the bulk of current business remains concentrated in near-term delivery.

Field Upgrades and International Push

Operationally, DroneShield has been busy on several fronts. A software update is slated for the fourth quarter, sharpening detection, identification, tracking, and defeat capabilities directly on units already deployed in the field. The refresh will be delivered through the company's Mission Ready Services offering, reaching more than 4,200 devices in service. The program is aimed at countering low-cost unmanned attacks.

International defense markets are providing additional tailwinds. On October 7, the company's Access Portal product picked up an Australian Good Design Award. A day earlier, Candice Driver took up the role of Joint Company Secretary.

Share Count Creeps Higher

DroneShield has applied to the ASX for quotation of 200,000 ordinary shares issued as fully paid following the exercise of performance options, nudging the total share count upward. For investors, the broader picture remains difficult: the stock is down 49 percent since the start of the year.
