DroneShield's 2026 Order Book Lands Mid-Guidance While a 44% Thermal Upgrade Rolls Out to 4,200 Units
Published on 10/17/2026 at 19:30 | Editorial boerse-global.deDroneShield closed Friday at EUR 0.9388, a gain of 6.7% on the session, though no single company-specific catalyst was behind the move. The advance came against a backdrop of fresh administrative appointments and a broader reassessment of the company's operating position. For the year to date, the stock is still down 48%.
A Cluster of Filings in Sydney
Several mandatory disclosures on shareholder structure dominated the Australian home exchange in recent days. DroneShield reported both the crossing and the cessation of notifiable holdings. Citigroup Global Markets Australia and affiliated entities disclosed a voting interest of 5.0754%, a position covering 46,964,998 shares in the company. Alongside that, DroneShield filed for the quotation of additional securities.
On the personnel side, Candice Driver was appointed joint company secretary on 6 October, succeeding Carla Balanco. Paul Cenoz continues in the same role. The administrative steps accompany a build-out of corporate structures as regulatory obligations mount.

Access Portal Earns a Design Nod
The company also reported recognition for its own hardware on 7 October, when its Access Portal received an Australian Good Design Award honouring the system's design and functional execution.
Software Update Targets 44% Better Thermal Classification
Product-level momentum arrived midweek, when DroneShield announced a software refresh built specifically for systems already in the field. The update is designed to lift classification accuracy for thermal cameras by 44% and extends detection and countermeasures to fixed-wing drone models. Delivery runs through the Mission Ready Services model, reaching more than 4,200 software-capable devices. The software emphasis marks a shift toward recurring services: existing defence systems can be upgraded at the customer's site without installing new hardware.
Contracted Revenue Sits at the Midpoint
Commercial visibility rests on the order book. DroneShield reported contracted revenue of AUD 261 million for fiscal 2026, up 35% year on year and exactly the midpoint of its own guidance range of AUD 250 million to AUD 270 million. The picture further out is thinner. Fiscal 2027 carries AUD 29 million in bound revenue, while fiscal 2028 and beyond hold AUD 17 million contracted so far. Converting the pipeline into firm orders is therefore the sales team's central task.
Investors will be watching how quickly management turns that pipeline into signed contracts to keep revenue levels intact beyond the current cycle.
