Deutz Slips With German Market as FFG Stakeholders Reveal 29.9% Voting Bloc
Published on 11/08/2026 at 10:51 | Editorial boerse-global.deDeutz shares shed 2.0% on Friday, caught in a broad global sell-off across AI and semiconductor names that dragged the German equity market lower. The DAX was down by close to two percent in early trading, according to Tagesschau, while the MDAX also finished weaker. dpa-AFX pinned the decline on the worldwide tech slump rather than anything specific to the engine maker.
The stock had already surrendered early gains on Thursday following its quarterly update. Media reports pointed to Rheinmetall's decision to cap its guidance as the factor weighing on sentiment across the defence sector, with Deutz pulled down alongside its peers.
Four filings, one voting agreement
Friday's regulatory newsflow centred on four mandatory voting-rights disclosures — from BRIMA, J.O.S.S. Beteiligungsgesellschaft, Universum Holding and FFG Beteiligungsgesellschaft. Each reported attributed voting rights of 29.90%, tied to the FFG acquisition and underpinned by a voting-rights agreement among the parties acting in concert around Norbert Erichsen. The threshold was crossed on Thursday, the filings state, and the combined attribution covers roughly 71.6 million voting rights. These disclosures concern holdings in Deutz; they do not reflect any purchase or sale of shares by the company itself.

Orders outpace revenue
Thursday's nine-month figures for 2026 showed incoming orders of €1.96 billion and revenue of €1.67 billion, a top-line increase of about 11%. Order intake ran more than 30% ahead of the prior-year level. Adjusted EBIT came in at €118.2 million, lifting the adjusted EBIT margin to 7.1% from 5.8%, and adjusted earnings rose 36% on the company's own figures. Deutz reaffirmed its 2026 revenue guidance of €2.3 billion to €2.5 billion.
Brokers stay positive, with a caveat
Berenberg reiterated its buy rating and €16.50 price target on Friday, though it described the third-quarter numbers as mixed. MPCM cut its target to €18 from €19 while keeping a buy recommendation, citing peer valuation among its reasons and flagging better-than-expected third-quarter orders. Separately, a Thursday disclosure revealed that chief executive Dr. Sebastian C. Schulte had acquired a Deutz derivative worth €3,800.00 on Tuesday.
