Four separate voting-rights filings landed on Friday showing that BRIMA, J.O.S.S. Beteiligungsgesellschaft, Universum Holding and FFG Beteiligungsgesellschaft each hold attributed voting rights of 29.90% in Deutz — roughly 71.6 million votes in aggregate. The disclosures stem from a pooling agreement among the four holders, with the threshold crossed on Thursday, and they reflect stakes in the engine maker rather than any purchase or sale of treasury shares by the company itself.

The filings capped a busy week for Deutz, which had reported nine-month figures the previous day. Orders came in at EUR 1.96 billion against revenue of EUR 1.67 billion, while adjusted EBIT reached EUR 118.2 million — a 36.0% increase. The adjusted EBIT margin widened to 7.1% from 5.8%. Management left its full-year 2026 revenue guidance untouched at EUR 2.3 billion to EUR 2.5 billion.

Profitability at the bottom line told a different story. Group net income for the third quarter of 2026 fell to EUR 6.9 million from EUR 12.3 million a year earlier, and free cash flow before mergers and acquisitions stood at minus EUR 50.2 million for the nine-month period.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Deutz?

Brokers read the quarter in diverging ways. Berenberg's Lasse Stueben kept a "Buy" rating and a EUR 16.50 price target on Friday, arguing that the early completion of the FFG acquisition overshadowed mixed quarterly results and marked a significant step in the company's transformation. The DZ Bank's Thorsten Reigber, by contrast, trimmed his fair value to EUR 15 from EUR 16 on Thursday while reaffirming "Kaufen," pointing to the potential of both the FFG deal and the new defence segment.

Friday's trading gave shareholders little comfort. A global selloff in AI and semiconductor stocks weighed on German equities, with the MDAX also losing ground, and Deutz shares shed 2.0% on the day.

Governance news added to the week's flow. The supervisory board on Thursday extended the contract of CFO Oliver Neu through September 30, 2032; his previous term had been due to end on September 30, 2027. Neu is scheduled to field questions from retail investors in a virtual dialogue on November 10, 2026, covering the FFG takeover, the shift toward an industrial platform and the performance of the business segments after nine months.

Separately, a mandatory disclosure published Thursday showed that CEO Dr. Sebastian C. Schulte had acquired a Deutz derivative worth EUR 3,800.00 on Tuesday. The company's next scheduled event is the publication of its 2026 annual report on March 30, 2027.
