Shares in DeFi Technologies finished last Friday's session 3.9% higher at EUR 0.4606, a move that closed the week on a firm note but that management did not tie to any single corporate announcement. The advance instead tracked a broadly stronger market for digital assets, where Bitcoin's climb — itself helped along by softer-than-expected U.S. employment figures — spilled over into crypto-linked equities. It is a familiar pattern for the stock, whose price continues to take its cues from sector-wide sentiment even as the company's operational story is written on the product side.

That product story has been busy. Under its Valour subsidiary, DeFi Technologies is steadily widening a range of exchange-traded products designed to give both retail and institutional investors exposure to digital assets through ordinary brokerage accounts, without the need to hold tokens in a wallet or arrange custody themselves.

Zcash ETP Debuts in Stockholm

The latest addition arrived on 29 September, when the VALOUR ZCASH (ZEC) SEK ETP — carrying ISIN CH1108681763 — began trading on Sweden's Spotlight Stock Market. The listing lets market participants deal in the instrument in Swedish kronor and answers growing demand for single-coin products rather than broad baskets. Valour charges a management fee of 1.9% on the vehicle. With the launch, the subsidiary's lineup now exceeds 100 ETPs for digital assets, and the steady expansion of that family remains a core plank of the parent's strategy to deepen trading activity on European venues.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying DeFi Technologies?

From Passive Trackers to an AI-Run Hedge Fund

DeFi Technologies is also pushing beyond plain-vanilla trackers. On 21 September, Valour announced the creation of Valour Funds SPC together with the launch of its first hedge fund, the Smart Crypto Fund SP, aimed squarely at professional and qualified investors. The strategy is run by Neuronomics AG, the developer of the underlying AI-driven trading models, in which DeFi Technologies holds a minority stake. The tie-up pairs Valour's regulatory framework and market access with the partner's quantitative management engine — a route into specialised strategies that passive products cannot reach.

Assets Under Management Jump 61%

On the operational front, Valour has been gathering volume at a brisk clip. On Thursday the subsidiary reported assets under management of $640.2 million as of 25 September, a gain of 61.2% from the level recorded on 30 June, alongside uninterrupted monthly net inflows. AUM functions as a key gauge for the business model, since recurring revenue is closely tied to the total pool of assets under management; consistent subscriptions shore up the operating base even while the digital-asset market itself stays highly volatile.

Chart Picture Brightens Slightly

The recent rebound has also nudged the technical picture into slightly better shape. Friday's close left the shares just 0.2% above their 50-day moving average of EUR 0.4598. That counts as a modest stabilisation, though the stock remains far below where it stood before a slide of 74.7% over the past month-plus. How the shares travel from here will hinge largely on the mood across the crypto sector and on how investors respond to the newly issued products.
