CSG's Spanish ammunition plant is back at work. The Fábrica de Municiones de Granada resumed normal operations after local technicians and worker representatives checked equipment that might have been affected by last month's blast, according to media reports on Tuesday. What caused the explosion is still under investigation.

The incident itself dates to 30 October and occurred in the facility's ammunition demilitarisation area. CSG reported two minor hearing injuries and no deaths or serious casualties. The company said production equipment was untouched and that it does not expect any long-term effect on output — an assessment that comes from CSG itself. Civilian property was not reported damaged.

Legal scrutiny is running alongside the operational restart. A court in Granada confirmed on Friday that it will investigate the incident, meaning the plant's return to service and the judicial inquiry are proceeding at the same time.

Iowa Contract Grows, While the Framework Only Opens a Door

Separate US developments landed the same day, and they are easy to confuse. The U.S. Army raised the value of the Iowa ammunition plant contract held by MSM Group North America by $105.8 million, lifting the total to almost $741 million. That uplift applies to an existing order.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying CSG?

The second item is different in kind. CSG's US subsidiary MSM North America has been picked as one of the contractors allowed to compete for modernisation projects at seven U.S. Army ammunition sites. The framework runs five years and carries a shared ceiling of roughly $4.2 billion across all selected contractors. It guarantees MSM North America neither individual project awards nor any particular volume of work, and CSG did not disclose a specific allocated contract value. Individual projects will be tendered among the qualified companies.

For investors, the distinction matters: the programme total is not revenue assured to CSG. Being admitted to the competition is not the same as being handed the work.

Export Reliance and a Space Bet

Deutsche Welle reported on Friday that CSG's ammunition business still leans heavily on export demand. The same report covered the group's push into space technology through its stake in MDA Space.

CSG at a turning point? This analysis reveals what investors need to know now.

CSG shares slipped 1.5% on Friday. No causal link between the decline and the US announcements has been established.

Management will present business development for the first nine months of 2026 on 11 November at 10:00 CET, in a session aimed at analysts and investors.
