Parliamentary Secretary Oliphant to attend 44th session of Ministerial Conference of La Francophonie

OTTAWA, Canada, 03 November 2023 / PRN Africa / -- The Honourable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Foreign Affairs, today announced that the Honourable Robert Oliphant, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, will travel to Yaoundé, Cameroon, to participate in the 44th session of the Ministerial Conference of La Francophonie on November 4 and 5, 2023.

In keeping with the conference’s theme of “Good Governance: A Guarantee of Political, Economic and Cultural Stability for Francophone Citizens,” Parliamentary Secretary Oliphant will take part in several sessions to discuss the role that La Francophonie should play in supporting its members in moving toward transparent governance. He will also meet with his counterparts from La Francophonie member countries to advance the shared goal of promoting and protecting the French language internationally.
