Bayer's Courtroom Relief Meets a Reality Check as Third-Quarter Update Lands
Published on 11/03/2026 at 05:40 | Editorial boerse-global.deBayer investors had little time to savour a legal victory before the market's attention swung back to the operating story. Shares in the German life-sciences group fell 1.1% at the start of the new trading week, giving back part of the sharp gain booked on Friday, when a Missouri jury unanimously dismissed Roundup claims brought by three women against subsidiary Monsanto.
That verdict, handed down in St. Louis, was the first Roundup trial since the US Supreme Court's ruling in the Durnell case. According to Bayer, the plaintiffs failed to present evidence supporting alternative grounds for their claims. Reuters linked Friday's strong share-price advance directly to the decision.
mwb research keeps its target intact
mwb research reaffirmed its buy recommendation and its 65.00 EUR price target on Friday, arguing that the Monsanto ruling had strengthened Bayer's hand in the long-running glyphosate litigation. The weaker start to the week, by contrast, was accompanied by media coverage focused on expectations for the group's operating performance and its debt reduction — though no concrete link to the day's share-price move has been established.
Attention now shifts to hard numbers. Bayer has scheduled publication of its third-quarter 2026 interim report for 03.11.2026 at 7:30 a.m. CET, with a media update broadcast live at 10:00 a.m. and an investor video conference at 2:00 p.m. CET.

A trio of pipeline and legal developments
The quarterly filing arrives on the back of a busy stretch of announcements. On 24 October, Bayer reported that darolutamide, combined with androgen deprivation therapy (ADT) and radiotherapy, cut the risk of metastasis or death by 58% versus placebo in prostate cancer patients at high risk of recurrence. The finding comes from an interim analysis of the Phase III DASL-HiCaP trial, according to the company.
Four-year metastasis-free survival stood at 95% under darolutamide, compared with 88% in the placebo arm.
Two days earlier, Bayer presented new subgroup analyses from the Phase III FIND-CKD study of finerenone in patients with chronic kidney disease without diabetes, covering effects on proteinuria and the decline in kidney function. The data were unveiled as late-breaking results at ASN Kidney Week 2026.
