Bayer Draws Fresh Brokerage Support as Pipeline News and Litigation Calendar Converge
Published on 11/08/2026 at 06:41 | Editorial boerse-global.deBayer's stock is finding support from two directions this week: a pair of raised price targets from DZ Bank and UBS, and a steady flow of operational announcements spanning crop science and pharmaceuticals. The revaluations landed within days of the company's Tuesday quarterly release and its upgraded full-year guidance, giving analysts fresh numbers to work with.
DZ Bank lifted its fair value estimate for Bayer to EUR 64 from EUR 60 on Thursday, according to media reports, while reaffirming its buy recommendation. UBS followed a day earlier, raising its target to EUR 66 from EUR 62 and also keeping a buy rating. Analyst Matthew Weston pointed to the strong momentum in the pharmaceuticals division and to the planned breakup of rival Corteva as reasons for the more bullish stance.
Not every voice on the street is quite so enthusiastic. Jefferies moved its price target up to EUR 48.50 from EUR 46 on Friday but stuck with a "Hold" rating. Analyst Michael Leuchten flagged the pending court approval of the broader Roundup settlement as the key legal catalyst still outstanding.
A Courtroom Win in Missouri
On the litigation front, Monsanto secured a victory on 29 October when a Missouri jury ruled unanimously in the company's favour in the Aretino et al. case. Bayer described the verdict as the outcome of the first Roundup trial since the US Supreme Court's decision, and the proceedings involved claims brought by three plaintiffs.

Crop Science Rolls Out New Tools
Bayer reported on Friday the first US shipment of its Convintro herbicide to a distributor in Iowa. The pre-emergence product, whose active ingredient is diflufenican, is intended for use on corn and soybeans starting with the 2027 season, offering growers an additional option against herbicide-resistant weeds.
The company's digital crop protection offering also drew coverage on Friday. Bayer is making PrediView available for the 2027 winter wheat season. The system pairs field-specific forecasts with a matching fungicide strategy.
Pharma Data Headed for Chicago
In the pharmaceutical business, Bayer said on Wednesday it will present new data on cardiovascular disease, kidney disease and stroke at the AHA Scientific Sessions, scheduled for 6 to 9 November in Chicago. The lineup includes an analysis of the OCEANIC-STROKE study on asundexian.
The Numbers Behind the Guidance
The third quarter of 2026 brought revenue of EUR 10.1 billion, with EBITDA before special items reaching EUR 1.62 billion, up 6.9%. The bottom line, however, showed a net loss of EUR 0.7 billion.
Bayer at a turning point? This analysis reveals what investors need to know now.
For the full year, Bayer now expects group EBITDA before special items of EUR 9.8 billion to EUR 10.3 billion, raised from an earlier range of EUR 9.6 billion to EUR 10.1 billion. Free cash flow guidance was also improved, to between negative EUR 1.5 billion and negative EUR 0.5 billion. Net financial debt is projected at EUR 28.0 billion to EUR 29.0 billion by year-end.
Chief executive Bill Anderson, speaking to Reuters on Tuesday, said the company is focused on innovation and debt reduction. A breakup is not on the agenda, he added.
