Axa Wins Moroccan Approval for Staff Share Issue as UK Terror Cover Goes Digital
Published on 11/08/2026 at 04:52 | Editorial boerse-global.deAxa has secured regulatory clearance in Morocco for a stock issue reserved exclusively for employees, with the country's capital markets authority AMMC signing off on the final prospectus on Tuesday. The offering covers a maximum of 58,951,965 shares. The approval clears the prospectus only — no completed issuance has been reported.
The subscription window in Morocco ran from Wednesday through Thursday. The AMMC's green light applies to the staff programme whose purchase prices Axa had already fixed on 30 October. Under the Classic option of Shareplan 2026, employees pay EUR 33.86 per share; the Guarantee Plus variant is priced at EUR 39.75. The two tiers therefore carry different subscription prices, while the share count represents the maximum size of the authorised issue. Axa named EUR 42.31 as the reference price for the programme.
UK Business Joins Pool Re Scheme
Separately, Axa UK on Wednesday signed up to Pool Re's incentive programme for small and medium-sized enterprises. According to the insurer, terror cover will be included as standard in selected digital insurance products aimed at that customer segment. The participation is confined to the British business, and Axa explicitly limited the announced embedding of terrorism protection to chosen digital products for SMEs.

Subordinated Debt Placement
On the financing side, Axa said it placed EUR 750 million of subordinated Tier 2 notes with institutional investors. The securities mature in 2057, and proceeds are earmarked for general corporate purposes, including refinancing part of the group's outstanding debt. Settlement had been expected yesterday.
Nine-Month Premiums Climb 5%
The operational backdrop remains solid. On 29 October the group reported gross written premiums and other revenues of EUR 93.0 billion for the first nine months of 2026, a rise of 5% on a comparable basis. Property and casualty premiums advanced 3% to EUR 48.1 billion, while life and health insurance generated EUR 44.8 billion, up 7%.
Axa has also reaffirmed its 2026 target of roughly EUR 8.6 billion in underlying earnings. Growth in underlying earnings per share is expected at the top end of the 6–8% target range, and the underlying return on equity should likewise land at the upper end of the guided 14–16% corridor.
Analyst Trims Target
Not every signal pointed upward. BNP Paribas Wealth Management cut its price target on Axa from EUR 56 to EUR 50 on 2 November, though media reports indicated the house kept its buy recommendation. The stock slipped 1.1% in Friday trading to close at EUR 44.69.
