ASML Draws Fresh Analyst Conviction as Samsung Deepens High-NA Ties Ahead of Q3 Report

Bank of America Securities has raised its fair-value estimate for ASML Holding, lifting the target to 2,557 euros from 2,452 euros while keeping a Buy rating on the Dutch lithography supplier. The revision rests on expectations of firmer pricing for ASML's lithography systems, alongside projected growth in shipments of extreme ultraviolet (EUV) and dry systems.
The upgrade lands just ahead of a key catalyst: ASML will publish its full third-quarter 2026 results on October 14. Investors are expected to focus on the pace of order intake and factory utilization when the figures land.
Samsung Aligns With ASML on Next-Generation Lithography
On the technology front, ASML is pressing ahead with leading industry players. Samsung intends to deploy High-NA EUV systems for future DRAM production and has joined an industry initiative focused on cutting-edge photolithography masks, deepening its collaboration with the Dutch group.
Those developments matter because ASML's order book has become the sector's de facto barometer for global semiconductor capital spending and the build-out of advanced lithography capacity.

European Demand Stalls as Home Market Goes Silent
Set against that international momentum, the regional picture is starkly uneven. On September 23, Executive Vice President Frank Heemskerk said ASML sold not a single chip machine in Europe during the preceding quarter, according to media reports. He attributed the blank to weak European industrial investment and the absence of newly built semiconductor fabs on the continent, and called on European policymakers to create targeted incentives for demand for chips manufactured in Europe.
For market watchers, the standstill at home lays bare the asymmetric dynamics of the semiconductor industry. With no new fabrication sites rising in Europe, ASML's reliance on large overseas customers only grows — and the upcoming quarterly figures will have to demonstrate whether international demand is sufficient to offset that regional reticence.
Shares Slip Before the Numbers
Ahead of the report, the stock came under pressure on Tuesday, closing European trading at 1,627.40 euros, a decline of 1.9 percent from the prior session. The price sits 6.9 percent below its 52-week high. According to media reports, the shares weakened in the run-up to the interim statement even as the major US indices advanced in the same window. Over a seven-day stretch, the stock is still up 1.8 percent.

Buyback Program Keeps Running
Supporting the equity in parallel, ASML continued its capital-return measures. Under its existing repurchase program, the company bought back 277,000 of its own shares for a total of 442,481,981 euros — a move that also underscores the group's financial headroom before the interim report.
The October 14 release will show how these crosscurrents — record analyst targets, deepening ties with Samsung, a dormant European order book, and an active buyback — ultimately register in ASML's backlog.
