Allianz Unveils Hospital Cover and Boardroom Reshuffle Ahead of Q3 Report

Allianz closed out the trading week on a firm footing, with the stock finishing Friday at EUR 417.60, a gain of 1.4 percent. The advance came as the Munich insurer rolled out a fresh product line in its home market and confirmed a series of leadership appointments across its subsidiaries.
The week's gains leave the shares 8.1 percent below their 52-week high. That gap traces back to September, when the stock entered a consolidation phase following its previous record peak. According to media reports, the pullback was driven by technical profit-taking rather than any deterioration in operating performance.
New Inpatient Cover With Switch Option
On Thursday, Allianz Private Krankenversicherungs-AG, a group subsidiary, presented "MeinKrankenhausschutz," a supplementary policy for inpatient treatment structured in three tiers. Existing customers are being offered a switching option: anyone who took out qualifying policies since July 1, 2026 can move into the new cover through December 31, 2026 without undergoing a fresh health assessment, provided they meet the contractual criteria.
The product launch coincided with the release of the group's 17th Global Wealth Report on Tuesday. The study examines household wealth and debt across nearly 60 countries and addresses, among other themes, the opportunities and risks that artificial intelligence poses to the financial system. The report put the rise in global financial assets for 2025 at 8.6 percent, lifting the total to a record EUR 268.4 trillion.

Leadership Changes Span Three Units
Personnel moves rounded out the week. Allianz SE confirmed on Thursday that Philipp Kroetz will move from Allianz Direct to head Allianz Partners as CEO effective November 1, 2026, with Laurent Floquet taking over at Allianz Direct the same day. Tomas Kunzmann is slated to join the Allianz SE board on January 1, 2027. All appointments remain subject to approval by the relevant regulators.
In the commercial insurance division, Stephen Morton was named Global Head of Captive Fronting and Captive Solutions on September 22. He is due to assume the role on March 1, 2027, succeeding Brian McNamara upon his retirement.
Buyback Winds Down as Berenberg Stays Bullish
Capital management has been running alongside these changes. Allianz's share buyback program was reported to be nearly complete roughly two weeks ago, and the stock has shed 3.2 percent since. Within the program, the company repurchased an additional 182,616 of its own shares on September 21 and 22.

Analyst support remains intact. Michael Huttner of Bankhaus Berenberg reaffirmed his "Buy" rating on Tuesday, keeping his price target unchanged at EUR 684.
November 12 Looms for Q3 Figures
Attention now shifts to the financial calendar. On November 12, Allianz SE will publish its results for the third quarter and the first nine months of 2026. The interim report should shed light on how new business and claims trends in late summer shaped operating profit, and on what momentum the newly assembled teams can bring to the coming financial year.
