Regulated industries run on documents. Clinical study reports, validation records, medical communications, regulatory submissions — each one has to be drafted, checked and formatted to standards that leave little room for improvisation. It is slow, expensive work, and two companies now believe they can take a sizable bite out of it.

Technology services provider Akkodis and software firm Biolevate have struck a strategic partnership aimed at automating scientific, regulatory and technical documentation. The joint offerings will roll out first in France and Belgium, with a gradual expansion into additional markets planned afterward.

Where the pressure is greatest

The initiative targets sectors where compliance obligations and reporting duties have traditionally consumed large amounts of staff time. Life sciences sit at the center, alongside aerospace, defense and the energy industry.

Several core applications fall under the arrangement: producing scientific documentation, drafting regulatory materials for medical communications, and handling validation engineering tasks. A further focus is support for medical device development processes, where demonstrating regulatory compliance accounts for a substantial share of the development workload.

Inside the ELISE platform

Biolevate's ELISE platform provides the technological backbone. It combines natural language processing (NLP), computer vision and graph-based artificial intelligence to analyze complex technical data and generate standardized text formats.

According to Biolevate, the platform speeds up scientific literature research by a factor of up to 2.5. Turnaround times for clinical study reports and regulatory approval dossiers drop by as much as 50 percent, the company says. For medical technology development, it reports project durations shortened by up to 30 percent.

Two partners, complementary profiles

Akkodis brings a workforce of 40,000 engineers across more than 30 countries to the table. The company is part of the Zurich-based Adecco Group, which operates globally in 60 countries, and is led by CEO Jo Debecker.

Biolevate, headed by CEO Joël Belafa, counts established pharmaceutical companies including Sanofi and Merck/MSD among its clients. Its financial backers include venture capital investors EQT Ventures and Orange Ventures.

By pairing Biolevate's software with Akkodis's engineering and consulting resources, the two partners aim to speed up market access for AI solutions in heavily regulated sectors.
