2G Energy's Second-Half Hurdle: A 0.6% Margin, a 39% Gap to Its Peak, and a November 23 Deadline
Published on 10/17/2026 at 15:51 | Editorial boerse-global.de2G Energy shareholders now face a single, uncomfortable question: can the decentralized power specialist still deliver on the full-year targets it has refused to touch? The answer will not arrive until the final stretch of 2026 — and the market is already pricing in its doubts.
The company's third-quarter figures are due on November 23, 2026, the same day it opens a three-day appearance at the Deutsches Eigenkapitalforum in Frankfurt am Main, running through November 25. Until then, attention stays fixed on the catch-up effort management has staked its credibility on.
A first half that fell well short
The interim report laid the gap bare. Revenue for the first six months of 2026 came in at EUR 136.0 million, down from EUR 169.9 million a year earlier. Earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) collapsed to EUR 0.8 million, dragging the operating margin down to 0.6%.
None of that has moved the board off its numbers. Management still expects full-year revenue of EUR 440 million to EUR 490 million and an EBIT margin of 9.5% to 10.5%. Hitting those bands means the second half has to carry the overwhelming share of the year's earnings — a lopsided split that has drawn open skepticism from the analyst community.
Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying 2G Energy?
Parmantier & Cie. GmbH reiterated a sell rating on the stock with a price target of EUR 39.00, pointing squarely at the thin first-half margin and the sheer weight now resting on the remaining months. The verdict from the market has been just as cool: investors want hard evidence of an operating recovery before buying into the guidance.
Price action and the insider signal
The shares closed Friday at EUR 47.28. That marks a 19% slide over seven trading days, yet the stock still holds a gain of 35% since the start of the year. Measured against its 52-week high of EUR 76.95, the paper sits 39% below its peak.
One member of the executive team used the weakness as an entry point. CFO Friedrich Pehle, through a joint account with Daniela Lohmann-Pehle, bought 100 shares at EUR 56.00 apiece — a transaction worth EUR 5,600.00.
Courting institutions ahead of the print
Management has also been working the institutional side. The company's first Capital Markets Day, held in Heek on October 1, 2026, drew 55 attendees for a walkthrough of strategy, innovation, procurement and the service business.
Whether that outreach and the insider purchase translate into confidence will be tested when the third-quarter numbers land on November 23. That report, not the guidance, is where the second-half catch-up gets its first real scorecard.
