2G Energy published its 2026 half-year report on 15 October, and the headline numbers sit a long way from the guidance the company is asking investors to believe. Group revenue for the first six months came in at EUR 136.0 million, down from EUR 169.9 million a year earlier. EBIT shrank to EUR 0.8 million from EUR 5.7 million, leaving a first-half margin of just 0.6%.

Against that, management reiterated its full-year outlook: revenue of EUR 440 million to EUR 490 million and an EBIT margin of 9.5% to 10.5%. Both figures are targets for the twelve-month period; the reported results cover only the first half.

The Arithmetic Behind the Guidance

The gap between the two sets of numbers is what drew attention at Parmantier & Cie. On the day the report landed, the research firm calculated that roughly 98% of the EBIT projected for 2026 would have to be generated in the second half. That is a striking concentration of the profit plan into the closing months of the year.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying 2G Energy?

First Berlin Equity Research took a different angle on the same document, flagging a net cash position of EUR 17.7 million at the half-year mark.

Directors and a Board-Linked Holding Add Shares

Filings published in the days after the report showed buying from people close to the company. Finance chief Friedrich Pehle, through a joint account held with Daniela Lohmann-Pehle, picked up 100 shares on 13 October at EUR 56 apiece — a total of EUR 5,600. The mandatory disclosure followed on 15 October.

Three days later, SHH Spring Hunter Holdings GmbH bought stock in three separate transactions. The entity is closely associated with supervisory board member Dr. Lukas Lenz, and the required notifications, released on 19 October, put the combined volume at EUR 123,275.

What Comes Next

2G Energy has scheduled its next update for 23 November, when it intends to report revenue and EBIT for the third quarter of 2026. The company's financial calendar also lists the Deutsches Eigenkapitalforum in Frankfurt, running from 23 to 25 November.
