XPeng's MONA M03 Ignites Market with Record-Breaking Order Pace
04.04.2026 - 05:25:09 | boerse-global.deThe launch of XPeng's 2026 model year MONA M03 has delivered a powerful statement on consumer demand. On April 2nd, the electric vehicle maker secured 10,000 firm orders for the new sedan in a mere 37 minutes. This pace notably outstrips the brand's previous debut in 2024, which required 52 minutes to reach the same order milestone.
Profitability in Focus with Premium Trim Dominance
Priced between 119,800 and 151,800 yuan and offered in six variants, the initial order data revealed a significant trend. Over 85% of these early reservations were for the higher-priced Max trim level. This consumer preference for more expensive, feature-rich configurations aligns perfectly with XPeng's strategic push for enhanced per-vehicle profitability. The company, which reported its first-ever GAAP net profit in Q4 2025, stands to benefit greatly from strong demand for these higher-margin versions.
The MONA series is a cornerstone of XPeng's volume strategy, recently accounting for approximately 41% of the company's total deliveries.
Strategic Shift to In-House Silicon
A key development for the 2026 MONA M03 is the completion of XPeng's transition from Nvidia hardware to its proprietary "Turing" processor. The flagship Ultra SE variant is equipped with dual Turing chips, delivering a combined computing power of 1,500 TOPS and supporting a second-generation VLA model for Level 4-capable architectures. The popular Max variant runs on a single 750 TOPS chip. A software update for further optimization is scheduled for the third quarter of 2026.
Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying XPeng?
This move to an in-house chip architecture is designed to reduce reliance on external suppliers and is expected to lower long-term manufacturing costs.
Global Expansion Fuels Strong Quarterly Momentum
XPeng's operational momentum is further evidenced by its Q1 2026 delivery figures. The company handed over 62,682 vehicles during the quarter, with March alone seeing 27,415 units delivered—an 80% increase over February.
Internationally, XPeng is executing an aggressive growth plan focused on Latin America and Europe. Its entry into the Mexican market is part of a three-year regional strategy, with plans to offer both pure electric and range-extended models there by 2027. Furthermore, MONA-branded products are slated for introduction in Europe before the end of 2026.
XPeng at a turning point? This analysis reveals what investors need to know now.
The combination of a proprietary chip ecosystem and rapid global expansion will face a key test with the release of Q2 2026 results. This period will also likely show the initial impact of the Ultra SE variant's production ramp-up, which begins in August.
