VINCORION Shares Navigate Post-IPO Waters as Key Deadlines Approach

VINCORION faces key tests as IPO stabilization ends and a major shareholder lock-up looms, despite strong 2025 results and a €1.1B order backlog.

The defense supplier VINCORION is approaching a pivotal moment in its young life as a public company. While its operational progress on major European projects is clear, its share price has struggled to gain traction since its March debut. Two imminent deadlines are set to determine whether the market will sustain its current high valuation.

On April 7, 2026, J.P. Morgan SE confirmed it had conducted stabilization measures for the stock, a move triggered by the price falling below the IPO issue price of EUR 17.00. This mechanism, agreed upon at the time of the listing, allows the stabilization manager to intervene in the market. The window for such support is narrow, running for 30 calendar days after the first day of trading on March 20, meaning it concludes this month. Once this period ends, the free market takes over full price discovery.

Operational Strength Provides a Foundation

The company's fundamental performance offers a solid counterpoint to these market mechanics. For the 2025 fiscal year, VINCORION reported an 18% revenue increase to EUR 240.3 million. Its operating profit (EBIT) surged 64% to EUR 33.7 million, and net income doubled to EUR 19.4 million. A significant 55% of revenue comes from the high-margin aftermarket business of maintenance and spare parts, supported by a substantial order backlog of EUR 1.1 billion.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying VINCORION?

Management is now focused on the future, targeting 2026 revenue of between EUR 280 million and EUR 320 million. A key operational milestone was recently achieved with the planned completion of the specification phase for the EU-funded SENTINEL project. VINCORION is responsible for the energy storage component in this initiative, which aims to create autonomous power supplies for mobile field camps using solar, fuel cells, and smart grid control. Such multinational programs often serve as precursors to long-term NATO procurement contracts.

Shareholder Structure Looms as a Factor

Parallel to the expiring stabilization period, attention is turning to the company's shareholder composition. Financial investor STAR Capital currently holds 47.5% of the shares, subject to a 180-day lock-up period that expires in autumn 2026. This presents a potential future source of supply. Additionally, STAR Capital's voting rights stand at 52.82%. A permanent drop below the 50% threshold would increase the free float, improving tradability for institutional investors but potentially creating near-term selling pressure.

The first concrete data point for investors to assess the sustainability of the growth story will arrive in May, when VINCORION releases its inaugural quarterly results as a public company. These figures must demonstrate that the ambitious annual revenue target is within reach.

Valuation in a Heated Sector

With a price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio of 46 for 2025, the stock carries an ambitious valuation. However, the current market environment for defense stocks provides some context, showing even higher multiples for peers like RENK (53), HENSOLDT (95), and Rheinmetall (over 100). The strong initial investor demand, which saw the IPO book oversubscribed ten times and close a day early with cornerstone investments from firms like Fidelity International and Invesco totaling around EUR 105 million, underscored the sector's appeal. The coming weeks will test whether that confidence can translate into lasting market performance.
