The United States burns more uranium than any other country, yet mines less than one percent of its commercial needs domestically. Uranium Energy is positioning itself to rewrite that equation, and the market is taking notice. The company’s stock has surged roughly 17 to 20 percent over the past 30 days, trading at around €12.80 to €13.18, with a 12-month gain exceeding 169 to 177 percent. The rally reflects more than just sector momentum — it’s tied to a concrete operational transformation.

Two Active Mines, One Strategic Vision

Uranium Energy now operates two in-situ recovery (ISR) platforms simultaneously, a first for any US company. The Texas environmental regulator recently greenlit the Burke Hollow project, making it the newest ISR mine globally and the first new US facility of its kind in over a decade. Simultaneously, the company received approval to expand capacity at its Christensen Ranch site in Wyoming.

Combined with the acquisition of the Sweetwater mill, the company’s licensed annual capacity now exceeds 12 million pounds of uranium. That makes Uranium Energy the largest potential US uranium producer by output. CEO Amir Adnani has called the Burke Hollow launch a pivotal milestone, with the next operational target being the Ludeman ISR project, slated for commissioning in 2027.

From Miner to Full-Spectrum Fuel Supplier

The company’s ambition extends well beyond mining. A subsidiary, UR&C, received a docket number from the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) in March 2026 for a planned uranium conversion facility. This is the first formal step in the licensing process. The plant would process uranium into uranium hexafluoride, the precursor for fuel fabrication.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Uranium Energy?

Engineering partner Fluor is already working on design and planning, with multiple potential sites under evaluation across various US states. Once a location is selected and technical designs are finalized, the formal license application will follow. If successful, Uranium Energy would become the only vertically integrated nuclear fuel supplier in the United States, covering everything from extraction to conversion.

Washington’s Nuclear Push Creates Tailwinds

The timing aligns with a broader policy shift. The Department of Energy’s “Nuclear Dominance — 3 by 33” program leverages the Defense Production Act to accelerate domestic uranium production and infrastructure. Congress has allocated $2.7 billion for the effort. Growing demand from AI data centers and small modular reactors is also fueling interest in nuclear energy, driving capital rotation into US uranium stocks.

A Cash-Rich Platform for Expansion

The company’s financial position backs its ambitions. Uranium Energy holds approximately $486 million to $818 million in cash, carries no debt, and boasts a current ratio of nearly 29. In the second fiscal quarter of 2026, the company sold uranium at $101 per pound, generating a gross profit of roughly $10 million. The spot price currently sits around $86 per pound, with the commodity posting a significant year-over-year gain.

Uranium Energy at a turning point? This analysis reveals what investors need to know now.

Analyst Consensus: Strong Buy

Wall Street remains constructive. Six analysts cover the stock with a consensus rating of “Strong Buy” and an average price target of $17.83. TD Securities recently trimmed its target slightly to $21, while H.C. Wainwright raised its to $26.75 — both adjustments came in March 2026. The stock trades about 4.5 percent above its 50-day moving average of €12.26 to €12.80.

Looking ahead, a 200-hole drilling program is underway at the Sweetwater site, and pre-feasibility studies for the Roughrider project in Canada are progressing. The conversion facility remains the most transformative piece of the puzzle. If Adnani can deliver both Ludeman and the conversion plant on schedule, Uranium Energy will have carved out a unique position in the US nuclear supply chain — one that no domestic competitor currently matches.
