Uranium Energy Corp is about to write a new chapter in US domestic uranium production. The company's Burke Hollow facility in South Texas has become the first new in-situ recovery (ISR) uranium mine built in the United States in more than a decade — a milestone that coincides with the release of fiscal third-quarter results on June 9. The stock, which has shed nearly 30% from its January peak of €17.34, recently changed hands around €12.14, and the market is watching closely to see whether the operational ramp-up is translating into revenue growth.

The production expansion is twofold. In addition to the Burke Hollow startup, Uranium Energy has stepped up output at its Christensen Ranch site in Wyoming. Together, the company's licensed production capacity across Wyoming and South Texas now stands at roughly 12 million pounds of uranium per year. But unlike many competitors, Uranium Energy sells every pound into the spot market — it runs a fully unhedged strategy, capturing the full benefit of a uranium price near $87 per pound. The trade-off is full exposure to any downturn, but with supply tight and demand for clean baseload power rising, the bet is paying off.

Financially, the company is on unusually solid ground for a junior producer. At last count, it held roughly $818 million in cash with zero debt — a figure the secondary article pegs at $486 million, reflecting different reporting periods. Either way, the balance sheet is a fortress, with a current ratio above 28. The absence of hedging means no margin calls and no forced sales, giving management the flexibility to time the market. The company has also been bolstering its Washington presence, appointing Bradley Williams as vice president of government affairs to press for policies that strengthen the domestic nuclear fuel supply chain.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Uranium Energy?

Policy tailwinds are indeed building. The US government is actively pushing for energy security and domestic processing capabilities, and Uranium Energy is working on developing its own US-based refining and conversion capacity. With a bipartisan appetite for nuclear power as a reliable clean-energy source, the outlook for domestic producers has rarely been brighter. The stock is up 127% over the past year, and while recent volatility remains high — annualized at nearly 88% — the relative strength index of 50.7 suggests the shares are neither overbought nor oversold.

The June 9 earnings release will provide the first hard look at whether the operational momentum at Burke Hollow and Christensen Ranch is lifting the top line. In the prior quarter, revenue came in at roughly $66.8 million, but the company still posted a net loss of about $14 million. Investors will be scanning for progress toward operating profitability. If the production ramp is delivering rising sales and narrowing losses, the stock could regain its footing. If not, the unhedged strategy and lofty cash pile will face tougher questions. Either way, the next few days will be decisive for a company that has bet its future on being America's premier builder of new uranium mines.
