Uranium Energy Bolsters US Supply Chain with Key Acquisition
05.03.2026 - 04:38:15 | boerse-global.deUranium Energy Corp has executed a significant strategic move to strengthen its position in the American nuclear fuel sector. The company has gained control of Anfield Energy, a transaction that provides it with access to crucial processing infrastructure in Utah. While the deal initially unsettled investors due to its associated costs, leading to share price volatility, the market has since shown signs of stabilization.
Forging a Domestic Supply Chain
At the heart of this acquisition is the Shootaring Canyon Mill, one of a limited number of licensed uranium processing facilities in the United States. Uranium Energy secured control through the issuance of approximately 900,000 shares to one of its own subsidiaries.
This move is a pivotal component of the company's strategy to establish a fully integrated, US-controlled nuclear fuel supply chain. Plans are already underway to modernize the acquired mill and significantly boost its throughput capacity to 1,000 tons per day. Shareholders of Anfield Energy formally approved this operational expansion in late February.
Share Price Shows Resilience Amid Initial Concerns
The market's immediate reaction to the announcement was mixed. On March 3, the stock experienced a notable decline as participants focused on the capital requirements needed to integrate and ramp up the new processing capabilities.
However, a recovery ensued in the following Wednesday's trading session. The equity currently trades at 12.92 euros. Despite recent consolidation, Uranium Energy's shares maintain a year-to-date gain of approximately 15%, though they remain about 23% below their 52-week high.
