Traction Uranium Secures Key Canadian Uranium Asset Through Strategic Agreement
03.04.2026 - 01:27:24 | boerse-global.de
Traction Uranium has moved to significantly expand its foothold in Canada’s prolific Athabasca Basin. The company has entered into a new option agreement to acquire the Jackson Lake uranium project in Saskatchewan, marking a pivotal step in its ongoing strategic refocus and the development of its exploration portfolio.
Strategic Expansion in a Premier Jurisdiction
This latest acquisition aligns with a series of proactive land deals by the company, including a recent option on the Aurora uranium project. Management is leveraging current market conditions to broaden its asset base in one of the world's most significant uranium-producing regions. The Jackson Lake project encompasses approximately 2,960 hectares situated within the Wollaston Domain, a geological setting renowned for hosting high-grade, unconformity-related uranium deposits.
The agreement with GEOMAP Exploration grants Traction Uranium the right to earn a 100% interest in the property. To exercise the option fully, the company has committed to a series of expenditures and payments over a two-year period.
Terms of the Option Agreement
The commitment is structured in phases, with final approval from the Canadian Securities Exchange currently pending. The key terms are as follows:
* Exploration Expenditures: A total of $400,000
* Cash Payments: An aggregate of $100,000
* Share Issuances: A total of 1,350,000 common shares

Upon closing, which is scheduled for April 8, 2026, an initial cash payment of $20,000 and the issuance of 1.1 million shares will be made. Traction Uranium will assume the role of operator and retain the exclusive right to conduct all exploration activities on the property.
Geological Prospectivity and Forward Plan
The Jackson Lake project benefits from historical data confirming the presence of uranium mineralization. The company plans to re-evaluate these known occurrences using modern exploration techniques. Specifically, identified graphite conductor corridors and basement structures present high-priority targets for future drilling campaigns. The active exploration phase is set to commence following the formal completion of the transaction.
Corporate Positioning and Supportive Market
This expansion occurs against a favorable market backdrop. Uranium spot prices have recently climbed into triple-digit territory for the first time in two years, driven by a persistent supply deficit and rising demand from both nuclear power facilities and data centers. Junior explorers in Saskatchewan are increasingly attracting attention from institutional investors seeking early-stage exposure to the supply chain.

Furthermore, Traction Uranium recently streamlined its capital structure through a 3-to-1 share consolidation completed in March 2026. With approximately 3.65 million shares currently outstanding, the company believes it is better positioned to fund future exploration work, including the forthcoming development at Jackson Lake.
