Star Copper Embraces Digital Modeling to Refine Exploration Strategy

Star Copper is implementing a sophisticated new three-dimensional geological model, aiming to significantly enhance the precision of its drilling campaigns planned for 2026. This digital initiative represents a strategic shift towards data-driven exploration, designed to de-risk future activities at its key project.

A Three-Dimensional Approach to Complex Geology

The core challenge at the Star project lies in the vertical scale of its copper-porphyry systems, which often extend hundreds of meters beneath the surface. Recognizing that surface-level analysis is insufficient, the company’s integrated model synthesizes multiple data streams. These include drill results from 2025, historical exploration data, and detailed structural interpretations of the rock formations.

According to CEO Darryl Jones, evidence from completed drilling suggests mineralization continues well below currently investigated depths. To probe these deeper layers, a dedicated geophysical program is scheduled for 2026. The market responded favorably to this updated technical strategy, with the company’s shares advancing 3.23% to €0.64 on the announcement. Despite this uptick, the equity remains under pressure, showing a decline of approximately 18.5% since the start of the year.

Targeted Zones and Parallel Project Development

The power of the 3D visualization lies in its ability to delineate specific mineralized domains within the broader property, which is a critical step for eventual economic assessment. Company geologists have defined three distinct zones:
* A near-surface supergene enrichment zone
* An intermediate oxide transition zone containing locally higher ore grades
* A hypogene copper sulfide system, which remains open at depths exceeding 700 meters

Alongside this focused work at the Star project, Star Copper is advancing its parallel Indata project. Efforts there are centered on infrastructure upgrades and soil sampling programs. This work seeks to build upon previous high-grade gold and copper discoveries and lay the necessary groundwork for an inaugural formal resource estimate.

The coming months will be dedicated to intensive data analysis and logistical preparation. The company is coordinating the upcoming geophysical surveys for Star while simultaneously moving forward with field activities at Indata, setting the stage for its 2026 exploration season.
