Since transitioning to private ownership under Permira’s acquisition in October 2024, Squarespace has embarked on an aggressive artificial intelligence implementation campaign. The website building platform is deploying dozens of new capabilities through strategic partnerships and product enhancements, signaling a fundamental shift in its operational focus toward AI-driven solutions.

In late September 2025, Squarespace unveiled what it termed the “Refresh 2025” initiative, introducing more than sixty new features to its platform. Central to this expansion is Blueprint AI, a sophisticated artificial intelligence system that generates complete websites featuring custom imagery, written content, and design recommendations. The company also launched “Finish Layer,” providing professional-grade animation and editing capabilities for creating immersive digital experiences.
