Siemens AG is demonstrating strategic momentum on two critical fronts simultaneously, blending high-tech partnerships with tangible industrial expansion. The company’s recent moves in AI-driven chip design and U.S. manufacturing are converging to strengthen its market position as key financial and corporate events approach.

Financially, the company enters this period from a position of strength. The first quarter of fiscal 2026 delivered robust figures, with group orders rising 10% to €21.4 billion and revenue increasing 8% to €19.1 billion. A standout performer was the data center business, which saw revenue surge 35%, driven by major U.S. orders for cloud and AI infrastructure. This performance propelled the total order backlog to a record €120 billion. In response, management raised its full-year 2026 adjusted earnings per share guidance to a range of €10.70 to €11.10.

On the technological front, a significant partnership with NVIDIA was unveiled on April 9. Siemens Digital Industries and the chip giant announced a collaboration aimed at revolutionizing the verification of complex AI and machine learning semiconductors. By integrating Siemens' "Veloce proFPGA CS" system with NVIDIA's chip architecture, the solution can simulate trillions of design cycles in days instead of weeks. Narendra Konda, NVIDIA's Vice President of Hardware Engineering, highlighted the system's importance for ensuring the reliability of future AI generations. For Siemens, the deal is a powerful validation of its Digital Industries unit's leading role in industrial digitalization.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Siemens?

Parallel to this digital advancement, Siemens is deepening its physical manufacturing footprint. On April 3, its new Siemens Mobility factory in Lexington, North Carolina, officially commenced operations. The $220 million facility serves as a central production hub for the U.S. market, where it will manufacture the first railcars for the "Amtrak Airo" fleet, with delivery scheduled for summer 2026. The plant utilizes robotics and AI, significantly boosting Siemens' manufacturing depth in the United States.

The stock has responded positively to these developments, stabilizing above key technical levels and gaining approximately 7.4% on a weekly basis. It recently closed at €229.45, sitting just below its 50-day moving average of €232.45. While the share price remains down around 5% year-to-date, it has recovered notably from its 52-week low of €183.70 hit in April, representing a gain of nearly 25%. A technical milestone was reached on April 8 with the recapture of the 38-day line.

Attention now turns to the Hannover Messe industrial fair, running from April 20 to 24. Siemens will showcase its industrial AI strategy, with a central demonstration featuring the Siemens Digital Twin Composer built on NVIDIA Omniverse. The company will highlight how PepsiCo has used this solution to slash production planning times from months to days. Cedrik Neike, CEO of Digital Industries, will detail the capabilities of the Xcelerator platform at a press conference on April 20. Concurrently, a €200 million project is taking shape in Amberg, Germany, where a new AI-powered future factory for the Smart Infrastructure division is planned for completion by 2030.

The next fundamental catalyst will be the release of second-quarter and half-year results in May. For Q2, Siemens' finance chief previously indicated that Digital Industries is expected to deliver comparable revenue growth in the mid-single-digit percentage range, with a profit margin near the middle of its annual target corridor of 15% to 19%. Analysts will scrutinize whether the strong momentum from Q1 can be sustained, paying particular attention to margin development in the industrial business, which may continue to benefit from soaring demand for data center infrastructure.
