Siemens Leadership and 5G Expansion Shape Strategic Outlook
03.04.2026 - 03:45:01 | boerse-global.deA significant leadership transition and a major geographic expansion of its industrial 5G solutions are defining the current strategic phase for Siemens AG. These developments come as the company's shares trade approximately nine percent below their 200-day moving average, with investors looking ahead to the upcoming second-quarter report.
Strategic Leadership Transition in Finance
Veronika Bienert officially assumed the role of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Siemens on April 1. She succeeds Prof. Dr. Ralf P. Thomas, who is departing the company at his own request. To ensure a smooth transition, Thomas will remain with Siemens as a special advisor until the scheduled end of his term in December 2026. He will also retain his position as Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Siemens Healthineers AG.
Bienert's immediate agenda centers on advancing CEO Roland Busch's "ONE Tech Company" strategy. Key priorities include driving the digital transformation of the finance function and optimizing cash flow management. Her first major presentation as CFO is scheduled for May 13, 2026, when Siemens will release its figures for the second fiscal quarter.

Industrial 5G Push Reaches Key Markets
In a parallel strategic move, Siemens is significantly broadening the availability of its industrial 5G offerings from its Xcelerator portfolio. The technology will now be accessible in a total of 15 countries across Europe and the Americas. A notable highlight of this expansion is the planned entry into the United States market, set for summer 2026.
The U.S. launch will utilize the Citizens Broadband Radio Service (CBRS) spectrum. This band allows manufacturers to operate private 5G networks within their own facilities without relying on external public mobile infrastructure. The target industries for this technology include pharmaceuticals, food production, intralogistics, and heavy industry.
The newly deployed 5G routers are equipped with an edge runtime environment, enabling applications to run directly on the device. This architecture is designed to minimize latency in production processes and facilitate artificial intelligence-powered data analysis at the source.
Market experts anticipate Siemens will report earnings per share of 11.00 Euros for the full 2026 fiscal year. The Q2 report on May 13 is widely viewed as the next key milestone for investor guidance.
