ServiceNow’s AI and Industrial Security Initiatives Drive Record Trading Day
02.06.2026 - 06:04:27 | boerse-global.de
Trading volume in ServiceNow shares surged to nearly three times the daily average on Monday, a clear signal that institutional money is piling in behind a triple-pronged growth story. The stock closed at $136.54, up 9.78% on the day, recovering some of the ground lost since its July 2025 peak of $208.94 — a level still 35.2% above the current price. The rally has been building for weeks: the shares have now climbed roughly 40% from their lows a month ago.
The immediate catalyst came from the company itself. Management raised its full-year 2026 subscription revenue forecast to a range of $15.735?billion to $15.775?billion, representing 22% to 22.5% year-on-year growth. For the second quarter, the company guided for subscription revenue between $3.815?billion and $3.820?billion. Those numbers sit on a solid first-quarter foundation: total revenue of $3.77?billion grew 22% year-on-year, with subscription revenue of $3.671?billion and current remaining performance obligations jumping 22.5% to $12.64?billion.
AI tailwinds from the broader ecosystem added momentum. Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang used his Computex keynote to declare the era of “agentic AI” a growth opportunity for software companies, not a threat. That message relieved investors who had worried that autonomous AI models could bypass traditional SaaS platforms. The reassurance was amplified by Snowflake’s strong quarterly numbers, which confirmed that enterprises are accelerating AI spending. ServiceNow and Snowflake share a strategic “Zero Copy” integration that allows direct data exchange, making Snowflake’s results a direct read-across for ServiceNow’s own AI-powered workflow business. Indeed, the number of customers spending over $1?million annually on ServiceNow’s “Now Assist” AI features more than doubled in the first quarter.

Security is emerging as a second growth engine. At the Knowledge 2026 conference, ServiceNow unveiled a joint venture with EY called the “OT Control Tower,” a platform for managing security in industrial environments and critical infrastructure. This builds on a product roadmap that includes “Autonomous Security and Risk” and the “AI Control Tower,” positioning ServiceNow as the governance layer for enterprise AI. The company is also deepening its alliance with Microsoft: the AI Control Tower will now orchestrate Microsoft’s Agent 365, and ServiceNow AI specialists are listed on the Agent 365 Marketplace, allowing autonomous workflows to run directly inside Microsoft’s productivity tools. A separate expanded partnership with Boomi embeds data activation into ServiceNow’s Workflow Data Fabric.
Analyst sentiment has turned decisively bullish. Bank of America reinitiated coverage on the stock with a Buy in May, calling AI the strongest growth trend ServiceNow has ever seen and forecasting revenue expansion of 18% to 22% annually through 2028. The bank also expects the free-cash-flow margin to remain “industry-leading” at 35% to 37%. Oppenheimer maintains a $130 price target, while the broader consensus — 30 Buy ratings and 2 Holds — implies an average price target of $141 to $144. Institutional ownership stands at 87%, with 108 hedge funds holding a combined $5.45?billion in shares.
Risks remain, however. The company flagged delays in international government contracts, particularly in the Middle East, that complicate revenue timing. Geopolitical uncertainty also clouds the outlook. And the stock has been notoriously volatile — it experienced 19 single-day moves of more than 5% over the past year. While the current momentum is strong, the shares are still trading well below their 52-week high, and the next real test will come with the second-quarter earnings release, expected in July.
