Max Power Mining has delivered a one-two punch that investors are devouring. The explorer revealed a 3D-seismic target mimicking its flagship Lawson discovery, while Eric Sprott snapped up another one million shares, cementing his status as the company’s biggest backer. The stock responded by vaulting to a new 52-week high of €1.61 on Friday, capping a session gain of 9.81%.

The technical catalyst comes from a so-called “Lawson Look-a-like” structure identified through 3D-seismic data on the company’s Saskatchewan acreage. For an early-stage explorer, such precision is critical: it shrinks the search area and sharpens the targeting for future drilling programmes. Separately, at the Bracken project — located roughly 325 kilometres from Lawson — Max Power intersected gas intervals carrying natural hydrogen and helium. While not yet a commercial discovery, the find hints that the geological system may extend across a broader region.

That geology centres on serpentinisation, a process in which iron-rich rocks react with water, releasing hydrogen and forming magnetite structures. Saskatchewan’s favourable geology for this reaction has turned the province into a hotbed for hydrogen and helium exploration, and Max Power is at the centre of the action.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Max Power Mining?

Sprott’s latest purchase underscores the momentum. The veteran resource investor now holds a 12.8% stake on a non-diluted basis, rising to 19.5% on a partially diluted basis, and previously led a multi-million-dollar financing round for the company in August 2025. His decision to add shares is widely read as a strong endorsement of the Lawson project, located 80 kilometres from Moose Jaw — Canada’s first confirmed subsurface hydrogen system.

The stock’s trajectory reflects that enthusiasm. Over the past seven days alone, the share price jumped roughly 38%, and on a 12-month basis the gain exceeds 1,000%. Year to date, the advance stands at 314.4%. Trading volumes have surged, and management has responded by launching a four-month marketing campaign with Quantum Ventures at a cost of $150,000, aimed at boosting visibility among clean-energy investors.

But the spotlight is also turning to neighbouring plays. Makenita Resources has doubled its adjacent Serpentinization Iron-Magnetite Project to 51,304 acres, and Inspiration Mining mobilised drilling teams for Rottenstone North on 15 May 2026, following recent VMS-style mineralisation discoveries in the northern part of the province. The competitive landscape is tightening, underscoring the value of Max Power’s first-mover position.

All eyes now shift to the week beginning 18 May, when the company has promised fresh operational updates. New data will aim to quantify the full extent of the hydrogen system, providing the basis for a more detailed valuation of Lawson. For a stock trading well above its moving averages and riding elevated volatility, the next round of exploration results will determine whether the current euphoria has a durable foundation.
