Prince Abdullah bin Fahad bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Jalawi al Saud, 29, was found dead in the bathroom of his room at the Marriott Hotel Kensington on 25 November 2025. The coroner determined that the cause of death was cardiac arrest brought on by the ingestion of multiple substances.
Toxicology reports revealed a blood alcohol concentration of 222mg per 100ml – roughly three times the legal driving limit. The analysis also detected GHB, cannabis and the prescription drug Xanax in his system. Forensic experts described the GHB levels as fatal.
There was no evidence of foul play or an intention to self?harm, the coroner stressed. Hotel surveillance footage showed the prince returning to his room alone after a cigarette shortly before his death.
History of Treatment
The inquest heard that the prince had previously sought help for substance use. In August 2025 he underwent a detoxification programme at the Priory Clinic, where costs were reported to be around £35,000 a week. He also received treatment at Rainford Hall, a facility costing roughly £7,000 a week.
Despite these efforts, the combination of party drugs and medication proved fatal at the £600?a?night Kensington hotel. Following the discovery of his body, a funeral was held at the Imam Turki bin Abdullah Mosque in Riyadh.
