Rocket Lab stock hit a record $136.45, but analyst targets range from $95 to $140. Q1 revenue surged 63.5% to $200.3M with a record $2.2B backlog. Insider selling and extreme volatility (122%) signal caution; Neutron rocket test looms.

Rocket Lab’s stock punched through to an all?time high of $136.45 on Monday on Wall Street, but the euphoria masks a sharp divide among the analyst community. While one shop has lifted its price target to $140, others are sticking with far more conservative numbers — Cantor Fitzgerald kept its target at $96 and Citizens Research at $95, with a few houses stretching as high as $120. In European trading, the shares eased to around €111.00, just 2.12% below the 52?week peak of €113.40, reflecting the tug?of?war between rabid sector optimism and measured valuation concerns.

The fundamental story is undeniably strong. Rocket Lab generated roughly $200.3 million in first?quarter revenue, a 63.5% year?on?year surge, and its order book has swelled to a record $2.2 billion spanning over 70 missions. Management sold more launches in the first three months than in all of 2025, a feat that underpins the development of the Neutron rocket and leaves the company with ample liquidity for strategic bolt?on acquisitions.

A $30 million hypersonic contract from the defense sector has further burnished the company’s profile beyond pure?play space launches, adding a second growth engine alongside the satellite?systems business (which accounts for 68% of total revenue). On the launch pad, Rocket Lab has already completed 87 successful flights and is aiming for 27 launches this year across its Electron and Haste programs. The next mission, “Viva La StriX,” is scheduled for May 22 from New Zealand, carrying a radar satellite for Japanese customer Synspective — the ninth dedicated flight for that client.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Rocket Lab?

Yet the white?hot rally has attracted profit?taking from insiders. Board member Alexander Slusky recently cashed out shares worth approximately $11.8 million, a move that often flags excessive exuberance. Volatility is indeed extreme: the 30?day annualized reading stands at 122%, and the stock currently trades nearly 97% above its 200?day moving average, a level that historically signals overheating. Still, as long as the €100 support level in Europe (roughly $108) holds, the uptrend remains technically intact.

The biggest catalyst on the horizon is the planned first flight of the Neutron rocket, still expected before year?end. If Rocket Lab can execute that milestone while sustaining its revenue momentum, the market will likely continue to price in a premium — even if analysts cannot agree on how much of one is justified.
