The divergence underscores just how much conflicting signals are now swirling around the space?technology firm.

That rhetoric was backed by concrete dollars: the Pentagon awarded a $190 million contract for hypersonic launches under the HASTE program. Separately, Rocket Lab struck a partnership with defense?technology company Anduril for national security missions, and the proposed Golden Dome missile?defense system could add further order flow. On the production front, Rocket Lab reached a milestone by rolling out the 1,000th Rutherford engine, the workhorse powering its Electron rocket. The backlog swelled to a record $2.2 billion, while quarterly revenue hit $200 million, beating consensus estimates. Earnings per share matched analyst expectations, reinforcing a narrative of operational strength.

Against that backdrop, the insider sale by director Alexander R. Slusky stood out.
