Rock Tech Lithium has secured a significant industrial partnership with Siemens Canada, marking a pivotal step in the credibility and execution of its planned lithium converter facility in Ontario. The collaboration underscores the company's commitment to establishing a robust North American supply chain for critical battery materials amid a geopolitically charged market landscape.

A Strategic Memorandum at a Key Industry Forum

The non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was formalized by the two parties on March 2. The signing took place at the Canadian Critical Minerals Forum, an event hosted by Natural Resources Canada during the PDAC convention—a premier global gathering for the mining and resource sector.

The partnership is framed within the broader context of the G7 Critical Minerals Production Alliance, highlighting its role in enhancing German-Canadian cooperation. The Red Rock project in Ontario is positioned to become a reference model for what the companies describe as a "robust, sustainable, and scalable" lithium conversion operation.

Leveraging Digital Innovation for Project Certainty

A cornerstone of the agreement is the planned implementation of Siemens' Digital Twin technology. This system is intended to be utilized throughout the development, construction, and subsequent operational phases of the converter. The collaboration will also explore additional Siemens solutions and engineering support.

The practical objective is to enhance the predictability of this complex industrial undertaking. By optimizing processes and identifying potential risks earlier, Rock Tech aims to establish the Red Rock facility as a blueprint for future converter projects across Canada and allied markets.

Building on a German Foundation for Canadian Growth

The Ontario project is not starting from scratch. According to the company, it will be based on the fully permitted and engineered blueprint from Rock Tech's converter currently under construction in Guben, Germany. This replication strategy is designed to accelerate development timelines, reduce technical risks, and improve capital efficiency by leveraging pre-completed engineering and permitting work.

The Guben facility, slated for a 2027 production start, is planned to have an annual capacity of 24,000 tonnes of battery-grade lithium hydroxide. For the Red Rock project, the MoU announcement indicates a potential capacity of up to 32,000 tonnes of lithium carbonate equivalent (LCE) per year. This output could be sufficient to supply batteries for approximately 900,000 electric vehicles annually.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Rock Tech Lithium?

Rock Tech also references its wholly-owned Georgia Lake project as a potential feedstock source for the North American market, noting intended collaboration with local Indigenous communities.

Recent Capital Raise Precedes Partnership Announcement

The Siemens agreement follows closely on the heels of a recent financing round. On February 25, 2026, Rock Tech concluded a brokered private placement, raising gross proceeds of roughly 4.7 million CAD. These funds are earmarked to advance the company's integrated converter strategy, supporting development of both the Guben, Brandenburg, and Ontario sites.

Despite this strategic progress, the company's shares have faced recent pressure. The stock closed at 0.57 € in the latest session, reflecting a decline of 16.57% over the preceding 30-day period.

The next substantive catalysts for the project are likely to emerge as the non-binding MoU evolves into firmer implementation agreements. Key milestones would include defined engineering scopes and a clear pathway toward a final investment decision for the Red Rock converter.
