Refined Energy Advances Uranium Exploration with Focus on Structural Target
21.03.2026 - 05:35:14 | boerse-global.de
The Canadian exploration company Refined Energy continues to progress its Dufferin West uranium project in the Athabasca Basin according to schedule. Despite these operational advances, investor sentiment has recently been cautious, with the company's shares experiencing notable downward pressure at the end of last week.
Funding and Market Reaction
A recently completed private placement has provided a solid financial foundation for the ongoing work. In mid-February, the company successfully raised 1.5 million Canadian dollars by issuing units priced at 1.05 CAD each. This capital secures the initial program, which is budgeted at 1.7 million Canadian dollars and designed for a minimum of three drill holes totaling 1,200 meters.
Nevertheless, the equity faced selling pressure on Friday, declining by just over nine percent to close at 0.38 Euros. This market movement occurred despite the reported steady operational execution.
Drilling Progress and Geological Strategy
The first hole of the current campaign has been completed, reaching a final depth of 432 meters. It successfully intersected the targeted unconformity at 332 meters, providing confirmation for the company's geological model. Core samples from this drill hole are now undergoing analysis at an accredited laboratory.
Work has simultaneously commenced on a second drill site, located approximately 100 meters to the south. Here, the geological team is targeting the intersection of an electromagnetic conductor with a structural fault zone. Such geological settings within the prolific Athabasca Basin—home to industry majors like Cameco and NexGen Energy—are frequently associated with uranium mineralization.

Data Integration and Forward Plan
Preliminary data from a recently concluded gravimetric survey was integrated directly into the planning for these subsequent drilling phases. The company's near-term operational trajectory is now heavily dependent on pending assay results.
The findings from the first batch of core samples, combined with insights gleaned from the ongoing second drill hole, will form the critical dataset for determining the precise location of the planned third hole within the budgeted initial program.
