Pelangio Exploration has initiated a new phase of geophysical surveying at its gold projects in Ghana, commencing last Friday. The campaign employs advanced electromagnetic techniques designed to detect potential mineralized structures at depths of up to one kilometer. This effort aims to determine whether the company's land holdings contain extensions of the world-class gold systems found in adjacent mining operations.

Advanced Electromagnetic Surveys Underway

The company has engaged SEMS Exploration Services to conduct a specialized controlled-source electromagnetic (CSEM) survey. This technology is particularly effective at mapping conductive and resistive zones deep underground, which can indicate the presence of gold-bearing geological formations. The method provides a significant advantage over traditional exploration techniques by probing to depths previously considered challenging to assess. The primary objective is the identification of high-grade ore bodies that may represent continuations of known regional mineralization trends.

Focus on the Obuasi Project Corridor

A key area of focus is the 9.2-square-kilometer Obuasi project. Notably, Pelangio's survey is running concurrently with similar geophysical work being conducted by AngloGold Ashanti on its adjoining Obuasi Mine property. Geological evidence suggests the principal gold trend from this tier-one deposit extends directly into Pelangio's concession. Confirming this subsurface connection is a major strategic goal for the exploration program.

Shifting to Manfo for Depth Analysis

Following the completion of work at Obuasi, the exploration team will move its focus to the Manfo area. Here, the CSEM survey will target deep-seated mineralization lying beneath the already-identified Pokukrom East and West deposits. The data gathered is expected to refine existing geological models and establish clear priorities for future drilling campaigns aimed at resource expansion.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Pelangio Exploration?

The findings from this comprehensive geophysical initiative will form the critical data foundation for Pelangio's next stage of resource development. The results are considered a pivotal indicator of the potential for discovering new zones of mineralization within the company's West African portfolio.
