OHB SE Strengthens European Space Ambitions with Latest Satellite Deployment

OHB SE achieves a major satellite launch milestone for Italy's IRIDE program, backed by strong FY2025 results including a 21% revenue increase and a record €3.19 billion order backlog.

A significant milestone was reached for European space infrastructure as OHB SE, through its Italian subsidiary OHB Italia, successfully placed eight new satellites into orbit. The launch occurred on March 31 from the Vandenberg Space Force Base, utilizing a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket as part of the Transporter-16 rideshare mission.

Financial Performance Provides Solid Foundation

The operational achievement is underpinned by robust financial results. For the 2025 fiscal year, OHB SE reported a 21 percent increase in total performance, reaching €1.25 billion. The company's adjusted EBIT saw a substantial rise of 17 percent to €84 million. Perhaps most notably, the order backlog swelled to a record €3.19 billion, providing multi-year visibility. The Space Systems segment alone accounts for €2.51 billion of this total, highlighting the core business's strength.

IRIDE Constellation Advances Earth Observation Capabilities

The deployed satellites, known as Eaglet-II, form a crucial component of Italy's IRIDE Earth observation program. This initiative is designed to deliver comprehensive data for monitoring the planet's surface. OHB Italia held full responsibility for the development, integration, testing, and will manage the future operation of these spacecraft. This end-to-end capability demonstrates the group's operational proficiency in a European market that is rapidly accelerating.

With the successful IRIDE milestone and a substantial project pipeline, OHB SE consolidates its position as one of the few European players capable of industrial-scale satellite manufacturing.
