Office Desk Price War Heats Up as Retailers Slash Ergonomic Furniture by Up to 50%

A wave of deep discounts is sweeping across the European office furniture market, with retailers offering steep markdowns on height-adjustable desks, drawing boards, and seating as they clear inventory and refresh product lines.
The Lykke Polar electric standing desk, a model measuring 120 by 60 centimeters with a height range of 72 to 122 centimeters, recently sold for 279 euros. The price represented a 44 percent reduction from its standard retail value, according to the seller. The desk includes four programmable memory positions for height settings, built-in USB-A and USB-C ports, and carries certifications including CE, EMC, LVD, ROHS, and FSC. It supports a maximum user weight of 45 kilograms.
Other models in the Lykke series also saw price cuts. The Lykke Nordic desk, with identical surface dimensions but a height adjustment range of 72 to 118 centimeters, was listed at 199 euros — a 50 percent discount. For workers needing mobility, the electric standing podium L200, which adjusts from 60 to 125 centimeters and supports a tabletop load of up to 80 kilograms, was offered for 299 euros. A drawing table with a glass surface and accompanying stool rounded out the promotions at 399 euros.
Beyond one-off sales, the supplier LiberNovo is targeting professional buyers with early-bird pricing on its Omni and Maxis series, valid until July 31, 2026. In the European Union, the Omni SE model starts at 589 euros, compared to its regular price of 929 euros. The Omni Pro is available for 979 euros (regularly 1,669 euros), and the Maxis model costs 829 euros (regularly 1,399 euros). The company said savings reach up to 48 percent within the EU. In the United Kingdom, customers can achieve discounts of up to 44 percent.
IKEA is using the current period for a broader assortment overhaul. Until August 9, 2026, the retailer is offering a 20 percent online discount on items marked "Last Chance," including the VIMLE two-seat sofa for 439.20 euros.
The Malm series, which has been part of IKEA's catalog since 2002 and has sold more than 160 million units globally, is being phased out entirely by 2027. Clearance sales are already underway in stores in North Rhine-Westphalia, running until August 31, 2026, with discounts of up to 40 percent. The Malm four-drawer chest, for instance, is priced at 75.99 euros, down from 99.99 euros. In North America, the Storklinta line is being introduced as a replacement.
