Northern Data Sets Final Delisting Dates as Quake AI Strategy Gains Momentum
Published on 07/17/2026 at 18:11 | Redaktion boerse-global.deNorthern Data has cemented its departure from German stock exchanges, laying out a two-stage exit that will see its shares vanish from trading floors by the end of 2026. The company, now firmly under the control of US partner RUM Group following an exchange offer, is pivoting entirely toward its rebranded identity as Quake AI, focusing on high-performance computing and GPU cloud services.
The first milestone arrives at the end of July 2026, when the stock will be removed from the m:access segment of the Munich Stock Exchange. Trading will then shift to the general open market, where it will continue until the final curtain in late December. Shareholders have been summoned to a virtual annual general meeting on August 25, 2026, where management is expected to provide further details on the transatlantic restructuring.
For minority investors who did not tender their shares in the RUM Group exchange, the outlook is bleak. The company currently has no plans to offer a cash compensation payment, leaving remaining holders with rapidly thinning liquidity as the delisting approaches. The risk of being stuck with an untradeable position has grown sharply.
Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Northern Data?
The stock has suffered heavy losses amid the uncertainty. It recently changed hands at €6.04, down roughly 60% since the start of the year and a far cry from its 52-week high of €23.80. Trading volumes have dwindled as institutional and retail interest wanes, accelerating the decline.
Operationally, Northern Data is pushing ahead with its transformation under the Quake AI banner. Its subsidiaries Taiga Cloud and Ardent Data Centers operate one of Europe's largest GPU clusters, providing computing power for artificial intelligence workloads. The group has set an ambitious target of reaching 250 megawatts of capacity across ten global locations by 2027.
The strategic shift reflects a broader move away from its German roots toward a US-focused future. With the RUM Group holding a commanding majority after the exchange offer, the delisting is largely a formality — a clean break that allows the company to concentrate fully on its AI infrastructure ambitions.
For remaining shareholders, the August meeting will be a last chance to assess whether the Quake AI gamble can deliver value. But for most, the window for action has already narrowed to a sliver. The era of Northern Data as a publicly traded German tech stock is drawing to a definitive close.
