The strategic shift by Northern Data away from cryptocurrency mining has culminated in a substantial annual loss of 390 million euros for 2025. This figure underscores the significant financial burden of the company's ongoing transformation, which is now squarely focused on cloud infrastructure and artificial intelligence. Despite the weight of this year's financial results, company leadership is projecting a fundamental turnaround in the current fiscal year.

Market Confidence Wanes Amid Prolonged Restructuring

Investor sentiment has been severely tested during this lengthy transition. The company's shares have shed approximately 63% of their value over the past twelve months. Closing at 10.00 euros on Tuesday, the stock is hovering just above its 52-week low of 9.68 euros, reflecting deep-seated skepticism on the capital markets regarding the company's new direction.

The financial strain of the pivot is evident across key metrics. Group revenue fell to 80 million euros, marking a provisional low point in the restructuring process. This compares to 121 million euros generated in the continuing business segments the previous year. The operational pressure is particularly visible in the adjusted EBITDA, which swung from a positive 32 million euros a year ago to a negative 38 million euros. The sale of the Peak Mining division, which contributed a positive 93 million euros to the result, prevented an even more pronounced deficit.

High-Performance Computing as the Sole Future

Northern Data's future now rests entirely on its High-Performance Computing (HPC) operations. In the fourth quarter of 2025, revenue in this core segment stabilized at 31 million euros, equating to a monthly average of roughly 10 million euros. Management reports an improved customer allocation and rising contract prices for the ongoing first quarter of 2026. This momentum is expected to drive significant growth and a marked improvement in adjusted EBITDA for the full year.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Northern Data?

All eyes are now on the imminent publication of the complete 2025 annual report. This document is anticipated to reveal the true resilience of the foundation upon which Northern Data's promised scaling in the AI sector is built. Investors are specifically awaiting details on the utilization rates of the new HPC infrastructure, seeking evidence to verify the ambitious growth targets set for 2026.
