Canadian exploration company Powermax Minerals is reporting significant progress at its Cameron project in British Columbia. The latest soil and rock samples have confirmed mineralization indicative of sought-after heavy rare earth elements. With the global market for these critical metals heavily reliant on Asian sources, North American geological assets are drawing increased industrial attention.

Market Performance and Project Pipeline

The company's operational strides have yet to be reflected in its market valuation. Shares closed at 0.26 euros in the previous session, trading near a 52-week low and marking a decline of almost 78 percent since the start of the year.

Beyond the Cameron initiative, Powermax is advancing a parallel project portfolio. At its Atikokan property in Ontario, geophysical data also suggests the presence of an NYF system. The company recently expanded its land position there in February 2026 through the acquisition of two adjacent claims.

Geological Focus on NYF Pegmatites

Recent geochemical surveys have outlined a north-south corridor extending over one kilometer. Geologists identified NYF-type pegmatites (Niobium-Yttrium-Fluorine), rock formations known for their potential to host heavy rare earth element deposits. The current soil samples returned values of up to 2,840 parts per million (ppm) of total rare earth oxides. Supporting rock samples collected at surface level reached up to 741 ppm, reinforcing evidence of the mineralization.

From Surface Data to Drill Targets

The management's immediate challenge is translating the gathered surface data into precise drilling targets. To date, the anomalies represent conceptual models, with no confirmed mineral resource yet established. Forthcoming field work will be strictly focused on pinpointing the exact bedrock sources of the soil anomalies. This groundwork is essential for preparing targeted drill programs aimed at confirming the project's potential.
