Nordex Shares Gain Momentum on Strategic Pivot
04.04.2026 - 05:04:29 | boerse-global.deThe wind turbine manufacturer Nordex is providing fresh evidence that its strategic shift from pure volume growth to sustainable profitability is taking hold. Recent contract wins in Turkey and Germany highlight the company's focus on a specific turbine class, which analysts see as central to achieving its ambitious margin targets.
Stock Performance Reflects Operational Progress
The market has responded positively to Nordex's evolving strategy. Shares closed at €45.02 on Friday, a mere 2.5% below their 52-week high. Year-to-date, the stock has delivered a remarkable gain of nearly 194%, underscoring strong investor confidence.
This operational momentum is being driven by a deliberate move toward the more powerful 6-MW turbine platform. Industry observers note that standardizing on this generation of technology is a key lever for reducing operational costs and streamlining maintenance across its installed base.
Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Nordex?
New Orders Showcase Core Technology
Two significant new orders underscore this strategic direction. In Turkey, Nordex secured a 120-megawatt project. The deal involves 18 turbines from its N175/6.X series, each backed by a ten-year premium service agreement, with electricity generation scheduled to commence in August 2027.
Simultaneously, the company reported a repowering success in its home German market. For the "Lütau 2" project in Schleswig-Holstein, Nordex will supply seven turbines with a combined capacity of 40 megawatts to NeXtWind Management GmbH.
Ambitious Targets Set for 2026
Building on a robust 2025 financial year, which concluded with a net profit of €274 million, Nordex management has set ambitious goals for the current period. The company's projections for 2026 are as follows:
- Revenue: €8.2 to €9.0 billion
- EBITDA margin: 8.0% to 11.0%
- Capital expenditure: €200 million
Looking further ahead, the Hamburg-based group is targeting a medium-term EBITDA margin of 10% to 12%. Market experts suggest that if Nordex can continue to populate its order book with high-margin projects centered on its new turbine generation, this goal appears increasingly attainable. The latest contract awards signal that the company's technological transition is gaining tangible traction.
