The German wind turbine manufacturer Nordex SE is demonstrating strength across multiple operational and strategic fronts, propelling its equity value toward peak levels. The company's stock is trading just below its 52-week high, having appreciated by approximately 45% since the start of the year.

Strategic Shift and Financial Targets for 2026

A notable development for the company is the introduction of a formal capital return policy. After a prolonged period of prioritizing pure growth, Nordex now signals a commitment to shareholder returns. Starting in 2027, the company plans a minimum annual distribution of €50 million, to be executed either through dividends or share buybacks.

Financially, Nordex has set ambitious goals for the current year. It is targeting consolidated revenue in a range of €8.2 to €9.0 billion, an increase from the roughly €7.6 billion reported for the previous year. The aimed-for EBITDA margin is between 8.0% and 11.0%, a span that reflects both operational confidence and the acknowledged dependency on successful execution.

Sustainability Credentials Strengthen Investment Case

The investment narrative is further supported by compelling environmental, social, and governance (ESG) data. On March 11, Nordex released its latest sustainability report. The core finding reveals that the turbines installed by the company helped avoid 92.2 million tonnes of CO?e in 2025, a significant leap from 69.1 million tonnes in 2023.

Furthermore, Nordex has reduced its own Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by 36.6% since 2022. Crucially for ESG-focused institutional investors, 100% of the company's revenue and over 92% of its capital and operational expenditures align with the EU Taxonomy for sustainable activities.

Community-Based Order Highlights Business Model

A concrete example of Nordex's project execution came on March 12, 2026, with a new order for a 49 MW wind farm in Heek-Strönfeld, North Rhine-Westphalia. The project, featuring seven N175/6.X turbines with a hub height of 179 meters, is scheduled for commissioning in the third quarter of 2027.

This development underscores a strategic advantage: community-owned energy projects. The consortium behind the initiative includes local landowners, residents, the municipality of Heek, a church parish, and a regional energy cooperative boasting more than 1,300 members. Such citizen-led projects historically face less opposition in permitting processes, thereby increasing the likelihood of successful realization.

Logistically, the Münsterland region is favorable for Nordex, with its own service point located nearby in Steinfurt. The order also includes a 25-year premium service agreement, continuing the company's established business model that combines project development with long-term operational support.
