The company is advancing plans for its Battery Anode Facility (BAF) in the United Arab Emirates, with strategic adjustments now shifting the focus toward concrete project milestones and integration into the global supply chain.

A Key Deadline and Strategic Financing

A significant date is approaching for shareholders: the Final Investment Decision for the UAE facility is scheduled for the end of March 2026. A positive outcome would serve as a major indicator of the company's potential to establish an international production footprint in the anode materials sector.

To support this crucial phase, the company has recently secured fresh capital. A public offering raised CAD $25 million, funds that are specifically earmarked for the engineering and financing needs of the UAE project. This capital injection is intended to bridge the gap as the initiative moves from the planning stage into active implementation.

Revised Partnership Provides Operational Flexibility

The company's existing offtake partnership with Mitsubishi Chemical was modified earlier this month. The agreement's term has now been extended to July 31, 2027. The core commercial terms remain unchanged, with Mitsubishi maintaining its commitment to purchase 9,000 tonnes of active anode material (AAM) annually.

This extended timeline is designed to afford NextSource greater flexibility in arranging financing and constructing the Emirates-based plant. The objective is a more integrated approach, allowing for better alignment between the construction phases and the subsequent commissioning of the facility.
