Nexcel Metals Expands Canadian Tungsten Project Footprint

Nexcel Metals expands its Burnt Hill project to 5,677 hectares, paving the way for a 2026 drilling program to explore critical minerals like tungsten and molybdenum in Canada.

Nexcel Metals Corp. has significantly increased its land position in Canada's New Brunswick province. The company has more than tripled the size of its Burnt Hill tungsten project through the acquisition of new mineral claims, a strategic move designed to support a broader exploration campaign for critical minerals.

Drilling Program on the Horizon

The expansion lays the groundwork for imminent field activities. Management is currently preparing a Phase 1 drilling program scheduled to commence in the summer of 2026. This campaign aims to assess mineralized zones across the newly defined project boundaries and enhance the geological understanding of the entire area.

A Substantial Increase in Scale

Effective March 24, 2026, the total project area now encompasses 5,677 hectares. This marks a substantial jump from the original holding of 1,540 hectares. The enlarged footprint allows Nexcel to intensify operational work in a region recognized for its potential in strategic raw materials. The existing core area already contains an indicated resource of 1.76 million tonnes grading 0.292% tungsten trioxide, alongside occurrences of molybdenum and tin.

Responding to Supply Chain Demands

This land acquisition is driven by rising North American demand for secure supplies of tungsten and molybdenum. Both government agencies and industry are showing increased interest in Canadian resources to reduce dependencies on these key minerals. The planned 2026 drilling program will generate the first data from the newly secured ground, which will be used to validate current resource estimates.

The company's strategy focuses on positioning the Burnt Hill project as a potential domestic source for materials deemed critical for industrial and technological applications.
