Nebius Bets on Agentic AI Narrative as Back-to-Back Events Frame Next Growth Chapter
04.06.2026 - 04:32:49 | boerse-global.deNebius is leaning hard into its own messaging firepower this month. Fresh from a BofA Securities conference appearance that saw the stock trim a week of gains, the company is gearing up for an exclusive AI forum in San Francisco on June 9 — an event it controls from start to finish. The timing suggests management wants to move beyond banker-led Q&A and set the investment narrative directly around its bet on agentic AI.
Roman Chernin, co-founder and chief business officer, took the virtual stage at the BofA Global Technology Conference on June 3 for a Fireside Chat. The webcast, accessible via the investor relations page, came with no pre-announced agenda. The stock, which had touched a 52-week high of almost €243 the previous day, eased about 4% as the session unfolded, settling near €215. With the event landing just before the New York close, any material reaction was likely confined to after-hours trading.
The June 9 forum, by contrast, is a fully owned affair. Dubbed the "Nebius Inflection: AI Expert Forum," registration was closed in advance and a recording will be released afterward. The company is rolling out an all-star lineup: founder Arkady Volozh, Chernin, Ophir Nave, Daniel Bounds, Marc Boroditsky, Andrey Korolenko, and notably Rotem Weiss, CEO of Tavily — a signal of Nebius' ambitions in agentic search. Participants are promised "first new announcements," hinting at product or capacity updates.
At the heart of the forum is a clear thesis: the first wave of AI — model building and raw infrastructure — is over. The next phase belongs to autonomous agents that run continuously, learn in real time, call external tools and switch between models. Nebius argues that existing cloud architecture was not designed for this workload. For investors, that shifts the spotlight to latency, model flexibility and the economics of inference, rather than just pure compute power.
Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Nebius?
The financial backdrop gives the narrative weight. First-quarter 2026 revenue hit $399 million, a 684% surge from $50.9 million a year earlier. Adjusted EBITDA swung to $129.5 million from a loss of $53.7 million. Net income from continuing operations came in at $621.2 million, though the adjusted net loss was $100.3 million. To fuel the growth, Nebius poured $2.47 billion into property, plant and equipment and intangibles in the quarter alone. The balance sheet holds $9.3 billion in cash against $8.43 billion in long-term debt, while $4.34 billion from convertible bonds and $2.0 billion from pre-funded warrants flowed in.
That cash is already being deployed. Nebius has secured land and power for a 1.2-gigawatt AI factory in Pennsylvania, set to come online in phases from 2027, and another 1.2-GW site in Independence, Missouri. In Europe, a 310-megawatt facility in Finland is billed as one of the continent's largest dedicated AI factories. Investors at the BofA event were listening for updates on capacity timing, utilization and capital allocation — themes that will likely resurface at the San Francisco forum.
The stock's trajectory underscores the volatility baked into this story. Since the start of the year, shares have climbed roughly 184%, and on a twelve-month basis the gain exceeds 527%. As of June 9, the stock changed hands at €217.05, sitting nearly 50% above its 50-day moving average of €144.97. The annualized 30-day volatility of over 134% shows just how much movement is priced in.
Nebius at a turning point? This analysis reveals what investors need to know now.
What happens on June 9 will test whether Nebius can translate its agentic AI thesis into concrete metrics — agent workload data, capacity build-out milestones and developer ecosystem economics. If the event delivers those numbers, it could give the equity story a fresh catalyst. If it stays atmospheric, the market may well revert to watching the next capex update or utilization report.
