The private equity firm Mutares has agreed to sell its Polish bus operator, Relobus Transport Polska, to Infracapital, the infrastructure investment division of M&G. This strategic move coincides with the anticipated release of the company's preliminary annual figures for the recently concluded fiscal year, marking a significant day for the investment holding company.

Preliminary Financial Figures Under Scrutiny

Investor attention is currently divided between the announced sale and the pending financial results. Mutares shares have been trading under pressure for several months, having retreated significantly over a twelve-month period. The stock is currently quoted approximately 4.6% below its 200-day moving average. Market participants will be watching closely to see if today's preliminary numbers can catalyze a reassessment of the equity's value. Looking further ahead, the company's ordinary annual general meeting is scheduled for July 3, 2026.

A Strategic Exit Following Successful Restructuring

The sale of Relobus exemplifies Mutares's established investment model: acquire, restructure operationally and financially, and ultimately divest. The company initially purchased the Polish transport operator in 2023. Since the acquisition, a turnaround strategy has been implemented, yielding tangible operational successes. Most notably, Relobus recently secured two new ten-year contracts in Warsaw for a total of 108 buses, alongside an additional decade-long contract in Danzig.

Having solidified the company's position within the Polish local public transport sector, Mutares is now transferring ownership to a long-term infrastructure investor. The transaction is expected to be finalized in the second quarter of 2026. Both parties have agreed to keep the specific purchase price confidential.
