Maxus Mining has initiated an extensive airborne geophysical survey at its Alturas antimony project in British Columbia. The high-resolution program is designed to map subsurface structures, providing critical data to guide a future drilling campaign. The company aims to have this decisive information in hand by early 2026.

Strategic Focus on a Critical Mineral

The exploration drive centers on antimony, a mineral classified as critical, with regional industrial demand on the rise. This survey forms the cornerstone of a broader strategy that also encompasses the nearby Quarry, Hurley, and Lotto projects. Maxus Mining had previously confirmed naturally occurring antimony grades as high as 69.98% at the Alturas property in late 2024.

The company is concurrently advancing other assets. Historical samples at the Lotto tungsten project have returned grades of 10.97% tungsten trioxide. At the Penny copper project, situated near the historic Sullivan Mine in Kimberley, copper values reached up to 2,388 ppm.

High-Definition Data Acquisition

Specialist contractor Geotech Ltd. is conducting a Versatile Time-Domain Electromagnetic (VTEM™) survey. This technique detects conductivity anomalies beneath the surface, which are key indicators of ore structures and mineralized zones. The primary focus is the western section of Alturas, where the objective is to define precise drill targets.

The western block will cover approximately 149 line-kilometers with a tight 100-meter line spacing. An additional 177 line-kilometers will be surveyed in the eastern block. To ensure data integrity, Convolutions Geoscience Corporation is performing daily quality control, an external review intended to guarantee that all subsequent interpretations rely on a reliable foundation.

From Data to Drilling

According to CEO Scott Walters, the program's goal is to rapidly understand the structural controls on antimony mineralization. The high-resolution geophysical signatures are specifically targeted at shear zones and structural mineralization controls. These datasets will enable the exploration team to prioritize targets for the upcoming drilling season.

Morgan Verge, Vice President of Exploration, has reviewed and approved the technical parameters for the survey. The newly acquired electromagnetic data will be continuously integrated into the company's geological models, allowing for dynamic adjustments to exploration targeting.

The completion of this subsurface structural mapping is viewed as the essential technical step to advance the project. Once the survey is finished and weather conditions permit, Maxus Mining plans to commence its drilling campaign.
