A pivotal advancement in a key unmanned combat aircraft program has been achieved through the collaboration of Kratos Defense and Airbus, marking a significant strategic expansion into Europe's defense sector. On March 13, 2026, the partners confirmed the ongoing integration of the Valkyrie platform with a European mission system, a move that solidifies their position in this critical market.

Financial Performance and Capital Raise

The company's recent financial results provide a strong foundation for its ambitions. For the fourth quarter of 2025, Kratos reported revenue of $345.1 million. This figure represents a substantial 21.9% year-over-year increase and comfortably exceeded analyst expectations, which had been set at $327.5 million. Earnings per share also outperformed forecasts, coming in at $0.18 against an estimated $0.14.

To fund its growth initiatives, Kratos completed a public stock offering in late February, raising $1.17 billion at a share price of $84. The capital is intended for expanding production capabilities. In a recent assessment, Stifel reaffirmed a Buy rating on the equity, setting a price target of $134. The firm highlighted Kratos's established role as a supplier for air defense and hypersonic systems.

Currently, the share price trades approximately 32% below its 52-week high of 112.75 Euro. Despite this, it remains positioned notably above its 200-day moving average. Market observers suggest upcoming flight test milestones will be crucial for the stock's trajectory through 2027.

Technical Program Details and Collaboration

At the heart of the European push is the Uncrewed Collaborative Combat Aircraft (UCCA) initiative, a program tailored for the German Air Force. The technical collaboration centers on preparing two Valkyrie aircraft for flight testing at Airbus's facility in Manching.

This variant integrates the MARS mission system, a sovereign European technology designed to allow the drone to operate either autonomously or in concert with manned fighter jets. The inaugural flight of this Airbus-missionized Valkyrie is scheduled for later this year.

The platform boasts impressive specifications, including an operational range exceeding 5,000 kilometers, a maximum takeoff weight of approximately three tons, and a service ceiling of up to 45,000 feet. It is explicitly engineered for high-risk missions deemed too dangerous for crewed aircraft. The AI-enabled MARS system is central to its function, coordinating missions across a network of diverse aerial platforms.
