Infineon’s stock punched through yet another milestone on Monday, hitting €75.29 — its highest level in 26 years. The move extends a blistering rally that has lifted the semiconductor heavyweight back into territory not seen since the dot-com era. The immediate catalyst: a sharp upward revision to the company’s full-year revenue and free cash flow targets, reinforcing confidence that demand from artificial intelligence and electrification is far from cooling.

The speed of the advance has been striking. From a September low of €31.38, the shares have more than doubled in less than three months. Year-to-date, Infineon has surged roughly 97%, making it the best-performing stock in the DAX. Just last week alone, the stock added about 10.6%, closing at €73.19 on Friday — a level that already marked a 25-year record before Monday’s fresh peak.

While STMicroelectronics, its European rival, has posted an even bigger year-to-date gain of around 158%, Infineon’s more defensive tilt toward automotive and industrial applications has delivered steadier upward momentum. Both companies are riding the same structural tailwinds: rising demand for power semiconductors in AI data centers, the build-out of computing infrastructure, and the accelerating shift to electric mobility. Infineon’s relative stability, however, comes with a volatility trade-off — annualized swings in the stock have hit 56%.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Infineon?

Analyst sentiment remains overwhelmingly bullish. Citigroup, Goldman Sachs, Berenberg, and DZ Bank all rate the stock a buy, while J.P. Morgan carries an “Overweight” call. Only UBS has held at “Neutral.” Maximilian Berger, an analyst covering the stock, described the momentum as structurally backed by Infineon’s technological moat and a stable demand base. The upgraded guidance, which includes higher sales and free cash flow targets, has only reinforced that view.

Beneath the surface, technical indicators offer a mixed picture. The relative strength index sits at roughly 40 — technically neutral — but the stock now trades a full 49% above its 50-day moving average. The gap to the 200-day average is even wider, at over 80%. Market observers caution that such extreme deviations raise the risk of a near-term pullback. Chart watchers peg the next resistance at €78.12, with support at €72.74.

Operationally, Infineon is investing heavily to sustain the growth streak. The company is expanding its Dresden fabrication facility, a project with a price tag of around €5 billion. In a separate boost, Infineon prevailed in a U.S. patent dispute involving gallium-nitride technology, a key component for next-generation energy applications. The stock now carries a market capitalization of about €95.6 billion and accounts for 4.53% of the DAX, ranking among the index’s most influential constituents. Monday’s trading saw more than one million shares change hands in the Euro STOXX 50 by midday, underscoring the intense investor attention on this 26-year high.
