The construction giant's stock has mounted a powerful rebound at the start of the week, effectively reversing its recent decline. Investor focus has shifted back to the company's aggressive growth targets and its strategic emphasis on high-margin specialty projects, underpinned by a record-breaking order backlog.

A Strong Reversal in Trading

Monday's trading saw the equity surge to €399.80, nearly erasing all losses from the previous Friday's session. The share price advanced by almost five percent on the day, solidifying its position well above the prior close of €381.00. This gain brings the year-to-date increase to more than 18 percent. The long-term upward trend remains firmly intact, with the stock continuing to trade significantly above its 200-day moving average.

Strategic Shift Towards Profitability

Operationally, Hochtief is benefiting from a deliberate strategic pivot. Management is increasingly concentrating on digital and energy infrastructure, moving away from low-margin volume projects. In its core markets of the United States and Australia, the construction of data centers is a particular driver of business growth. The company's profit for the past fiscal year already climbed by 26 percent to €789 million, while new orders surged by almost one-third.

For the current 2026 financial year, the executive board is forecasting additional profit growth of between 20 and 30 percent. A record order backlog of €73 billion ensures sustained utilization for years to come. Shareholders are also participating directly in this success: a proposed dividend of €6.60 per share highlights the construction group's robust cash flow generation.
