The regulatory clearance, announced Tuesday, removes the final obstacle for BioNTech to proceed with obtaining up to 100 percent of CureVac’s shares, marking a significant consolidation within the mRNA technology landscape.

Germany’s competition watchdog conducted a thorough review of the proposed merger between the two mRNA specialists and identified no grounds for objection.
